Starting up an insurance business in 2020 with the desire to add value to builder clients in the middle of a pandemic and in a hardened market is not easy, but in construction, nothing is easy and has taught him to be comfortable with the uncomfortable while solving difficult problems. Petara has since developed a burning passion and focussed desire to help builders and look to collaborate with innovative technology like Procore and Settl’d – innovative technology that help builders build successful construction companies in a sustainable and profitable way which prioritises the safety of all. The outcome is increased profitability and reduction of managed risk where processes and systems are implemented efficiently leading to quality projects. Procore is reinventing what risk management should look like for builders and construction professionals in ways that actually work in accordance with what the insurers seek from the insured. This experience opened his eyes on the applications of Procore and what this would mean for the insurance industry. It was during this time that Petara learned how to use Procore on live multi-development projects. This gave him hands on experience working alongside the company director and nationally renowned builder as a contract administrator. Armed with strong insurance background, Petara recently stepped out into the construction industry for a couple of years.
